The Bourne Identity (8/10) and The Bourne Supremacy (7/10)

Nice spy action. Although you must approach such spy movies with a certain mindset because unlike more light-hearted stuff like James Bond and such, these other spy movies sometimes take themselves too seriously and risk on being just silly. Everyone speaks extremely bad Russian in these movies (except some supporting cast who are native speakers). Also, in the first movie, it was fun to see a tram in Zurich that clearly does not run there, as the scenes were shot in Prague. Everybody from the Eastern bloc knows the shape of those trams, I used to ride them myself in Tallinn a lot. But they haven’t run in Zurich so it was one of those “wtf” moments.
Looking forward to the third part, Bourne Ultimatum, making it to iTunes movie rental.

21 Grams (8/10)

Sometimes those non-linear movies try to be too artsy and are cut in a way that makes no sense from beginning to end. 21 Grams was better. Initially it was hard to follow, but it was interesting enough to keep you watching, and eventually everything fell into place. As it happens often in life, there were no clear “good” and “bad” guys. People were messed up and all had their up and down sides.

Saw this a few weeks ago. The trailer had made a bigger impression on me than the movie actually turned out to be. I liked the unexpected twists and turns. The “random American tourist saves everything” was silly.
